The Black Art Today Foundation Scholarship

The Black Art Today Foundation is proud to award two $1,000 scholarships to students pursuing an undergraduate degree in the visual, performing, or literary arts, including music, dance, and theater. This scholarship is designed to support emerging creatives as they continue their education and develop their artistic voice. Funds may be used toward tuition, books, or other approved educational expenses.

Who Can Apply

Applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Be a graduating high school senior or a rising college sophomore
  • Maintain a minimum 2.5 GPA
  • Reside in (or be a former resident of) Maryland, specifically:
    Anne Arundel County, Baltimore City, Baltimore County, Montgomery County, or Prince George’s County
  • Plan to pursue a degree in the visual, performing, or literary arts

Application Overview

To apply, students will be asked to submit:

  • Official transcript
  • Letters of recommendation (academic and character)
  • A written essay (500–1,000 words) responding to one of several prompts
